County Registrar will outline cost considerations and logistics.

Albemarle County, VA — Next Wednesday, August 21, the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors will hold a formal discussion on ranked choice voting, following Charlottesville City Council's recent steps toward adoption.

The Board will receive presentations from County Registrar Lauren Eddy and the County Electoral Board on implementation logistics, costs, and personnel requirements for potentially adopting ranked choice voting in local elections starting in 2025. More than 130 county residents have signed a petition through Ranked Choice Virginia supporting adoption.

The meeting will begin at 1:00 PM in the County Office Building on McIntire Road and the agenda is posted online. Members of the public may sign up to speak during the public comment period.
