Here at Ranked Choice Virginia, there's an awful lot to be thankful for this year.
- Our voter education campaign for Charlottesville's first ranked choice election is officially underway. We know that learning by doing is the best way to spread the word about ranked choice, so we're teaming up with the City of Charlottesville to name this year's downtown holiday tree with RCV. It's a fun and festive way for Charlottesville voters to get ready to rank next June.
- Across Virginia, support for ranked choice continues to grow. From Newport News to Fairfax City, Virginia mayors are leading the charge for better ballots.
- Across the country, Alaskans are reaping the benefits of RCV. After their latest ranked choice election, a new bipartisan coalition has claimed control of their state legislature. The coalition has pledged to focus on education, energy, and retirement in their upcoming legislative session. It's a clear sign that ranked choice helps the people elect leaders who put their priorities first.
The year ahead will be filled with more milestones, and we'll keep you posted every step of the way. In the meantime, thanks for all that you do to make all of it possible.
